Celebrating the Local Producers Behind Our Watercress Pesto

At Butler Country Estates, we firmly believe that the best food begins with the best ingredients. But just as importantly, we believe it begins with the people who produce them.

Every batch of our Watercress Pesto is the result of a wonderful collaboration between independent businesses who share our passion for quality, provenance and exceptional flavour. While we’re proud to make the finished product here in Hampshire, we know we couldn’t do it without the fantastic producers whose ingredients make every jar so special.

Fresh, peppery Alresford watercress from Arle provides the heart of the recipe, bringing its distinctive flavour and vibrant colour. Rich, nutty Old Winchester cheese from Lyburn Farmhouse Cheesemakers adds depth and character, while premium olive oil from Two&One creates the perfect silky texture. Finally, garlic from The Garlic Farm brings just the right amount of warmth and balance.

Each ingredient has been carefully chosen, not only because of its outstanding quality, but because it comes from businesses that care about craftsmanship, sustainability and producing food with real integrity. For us, sourcing locally is about so much more than distance. It’s about building lasting relationships with fellow producers, supporting one another and celebrating the incredible food that our region has to offer. 

By working together, we’re creating products that reflect the passion, skill and dedication of everyone involved, from the growers and cheesemakers through to our own production team. The result is a pesto that’s packed with flavour, proudly rooted in Hampshire and made with ingredients we genuinely believe in.
